Free Tech Classes for Kids at Apple Stores

Apple Pioneer Place

Apple Camps are back! These free, fun, two-hour sessions for budding technology experts are continuing through July 30. The classes are for children ages 8-12 and an adult must be present, but they won’t need you, so be sure to bring something to pass the time. The slots usually fill up quickly, so don’t hesitate if your child may be interested.

Simply sign up, and show up. Apple provides the iPads, so the only thing your child will need is a face mask — there’s usually a crowd in the Apple store. Campers will learn the basics of story-telling, how to make their own short film using the Clips app, and they’ll have an opportunity to share their work on the big screen at the end of the session. Plus they get a free t-shirt!

Is the idea of having time to sit in the Apple store for two hours a little laughable right now? No worries! Check out Apple’s 30 Creative Ideas for Kids, featuring activities that can be done with the built-in features on the iPad. Limitless creativity with no trip to the art store required. It’s screen time you can feel good about.
