THE ARTS COME ALIVE THIS JULY!
Igniting creativity, fun, and friendship at the 28th Cognizart by MetroArts Inc. visual arts, music, theater, and dance camp!
About Cognizart by MetroArts Inc. 360 Arts Camp for Youth
Since 1993, Cognizart by MetroArts Inc. has given kids ages 6-12 a chance to be immersed in all art forms Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The overall lesson plans and daily goals for creation for all campers are similar, but with age-appropriate challenges to keep the artistic spark alive.
The fun lesson plans for younger campers focus on encouraging natural creativity, fearlessness, and expanding interests. Younger campers are often paired with Intern helpers who can help to ignite confidence and assist with reading and writing. The innovative lesson plans for older campers allow for the opportunity to explore and collaborate with peers. Older campers create more complex artistic projects, try new things, and showcase their unique talents and gifts.
Access to the Arts for All Kids!
We believe in the vital importance of arts education in self-confidence, wellbeing, and social inclusion. Therefore, we keep the cost of camp as low as possible, and also offer scholarships for children to attend. Scholarships are awarded based on need and camper loads.
What happens at 360 Arts Camp?
Campers arrive between 8:50 a.m. and 9 a.m. and participate in fun warm-up exercises and receive the schedule for the day. Monday through Thursday, campers create art in two disciplines (visual arts and music, for instance) in the morning and two in the afternoon (theater and dance, for instance). The order of the disciplines alternates each day.
On Fridays, campers utilize the skills and creations they have made throughout the week to create a group performance, incorporating lessons learned from our multicultural guest artists. Therefore, attendance each day is important.
Camp ends at 3:58 p.m. with a prompt at 4 p.m. pickup.
