Description:

Metropolitan Performing Arts is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 that is dedicated to enriching our community by nurturing a lifelong passion and appreciation for live arts through education and performance opportunities. Our academy offers classes for both children and adults in acting, singing, dance, tech, design, and stage combat. Our community theater is committed to a quality community theater experience that involves and enlightens.

Our Classes allow each student to realize and reach their creative potential. Students can choose to take individual classes (acting, singing, dance, tech, combat) or enroll in our musical theater program, MTP for short. MTP's focus is to train ‘Triple Threats’- talented individuals who can sing, dance, and act with equal accomplishment. Tuition in this program includes three (3) technique driven core classes (one acting, one dance, and one vocal), along with a guaranteed role in our Academy's main stage production. The development of performance skills is a vital part of being a Triple Threat. With the opportunity to be on stage, students will grow into a polished stage performer. All classes are taught by industry professionals.

Our Camps are a great alternative to sitting at home in front of the TV, or with a babysitter. From our 3-week performance camp to our most popular LARP wizard camps, there is something for everyone at MPA when school is out!

Our Community Theater is dedicated to preserving a quality community theater experience. We believe that theater is an essential cultural force and that it belongs to everyone in our community. We strive to produce theater that involves and enlightens our community. Our shows have been recognized with several PAMTA and DRAMMY nominations. Each production has enriched the community by exposing new generations to live productions. Our free theater in the park series is an opportunity for the public to see and participate in quality community theater in SW Washington that's free of charge.
