We are an all-outdoor forest preschool in SW Portland that celebrates human diversity and our connection to the natural world. Our program runs Monday through Friday for ages 3-5, with curriculum focusing on social/emotional regulation, art, movement, science, and nature connection. Our daily rhythm makes time for artistic development, science experiments, rolling down hills, making forts, early literacy, music, and lots of dramatic play.
Children bring food from home and learn from each other as they catch bugs, build fairy houses, listen to stories, climb hills, balance on an obstacle course, and play music together. We are just as interested in their physical and social development as we are interested in their intellectual education.
We also run an afterschool enrichment program for ages 5-7. Our afternoons are full of hiking, climbing, science experiments, and building friendship skills.
Because we want to have trusting, attentive, relationships between students and staff, we keep our teacher-to-student ratio at 1:6
Come for the forest but stay for the tight-knit community, passionate teachers, and happy, muddy kids.
