This December Aurora Chorus invites you to come in from the cold and share songs with us as we introduce our new Artistic Director Rebecca Parsons with Fire Burn Bright, a concert to mark the coming of solstice, reflect together on building shelter and warming spaces, and kindle resilient flame in community. Included on the program are songs made famous by Sweet Honey in the Rock, an exploration of the seven principles of Kwanzaa, and universal themes of home, warmth, and the turning of the seasons.

Overall, Fire, Burn Bright is a concert about Home. It is a reflection on the trust we choose when we build a home with others, on the ways we put down roots, and on the importance of building home not only for ourselves, but for our greater community.

We’ll be honoring the efforts of organizations championing this valuable work in our fellowship hall following the concert.
