DESCRIPTION:Hillsboro Public Library staff are excited to host a vibrant and culturally rich celebration of Día de los niños (Children’s Day) on Saturday\, April 26\, from 12 to 4 pm.\n\n\nThe afternoon of family-friendly activities\, entertainment\, and learning opportunities will take place at both the Shute Park Library and the Hillsboro Community Senior Center.\n\n\nDía de los niños (Children’s Day) Celebration\nSaturday\, April 26\n12 – 4 pm\nShute Park Library & Hillsboro Community Senior Center\n\n \n\n\nThe celebration is free and open to all community members.\n\n\nTradition Continues\nDía de los niños is a traditional Mexican holiday that celebrates children and their importance in communities. It emphasizes the importance of literacy for children of all linguistic and cultural backgrounds.\n\n\nHillsboro Public Library’s event will honor this tradition by offering a variety of activities for children that highlight the richness of our community.\n\n\nFamily Activities\nFamilies are encouraged to come and join in the festivities\, celebrate the diversity of our community\, and support the importance of literacy and cultural understanding for all children.\nActivities will include:\n\n\n\nstorytelling sessions: featuring bilingual stories\npuppet shows\ninteractive activities\ncrafts\ngames\nmusic\n\nIn addition\, Hillsboro Parks & Recreation will be there with a fun Arbor Day activity.\n\n\nThe celebration will also expand into the Hillsboro Community Senior Center with special performances.\n\n\nPerformance Schedule\n12:30 – 1:15 pm     Pegasus Puppet Theatre – La Ratoncita Presumida/The Vain Little Mouse\n1:30 – 2:15 pm       Balloon Artist\n2:45 – 3:45 pm       Heather Pearl Clown Show
