DESCRIPTION:Earth Day began in 1970 as a national teach-in on the environment\, sparked by college campuses\, youth organizers\, and a growing movement of people who believed everyone has a role in protecting our planet. We’re carrying that spirit forward with a big Earth Day cleanup at Tom McCall Waterfront Park\, where volunteers of all ages will team up to collect both litter and recyclables.\n\n\nEvery piece you remove helps keep our parks cleaner\, strengthens our local recycling stream\, and prevents waste from entering the Willamette River. This is a great opportunity to come together as a community\, enjoy scenic views\, and make a tangible impact on our environment. Let’s honor Earth Day by keeping our city clean and green!\n\n\nAdvanced Registration: Is highly suggested but not required. Please sign up (green button below) ahead of time to guarantee your spot.\n\n \n\n\nMeeting Location: We will be meeting nearby the fountain where the Saturday Market is\, across from Ankeny Plaza. Look for the SOLVE signs!\n\n\nAddress: 2 SW Naito Pkwy Portland\, OR 97204 | Map Link\n\n\nWhat to Bring: Please wear closed-toed shoes and weather-appropriate clothing\, and bring a backpack for hands-free convenience.
