Ladybug Nature Walk at Johnson Creek Park – 10:00am
Register for this Ladybug Walk here: LINK
Ladybug Nature Walks are SLOW nature hikes for young children (ages 2-6) and their grown-ups. Children explore plants, animals, and rocks while practicing social and motor skills.
During a walk, each child borrows a backpack full of tools for exploring. Nature Educators guide children in small groups through a series of “Nature Play” activities. Classic activities include observing plants, digging for worms, catching bugs, investigating natural items with magnifying glasses, collecting leaves, and painting with water. We provide supplies and structure, but each child is encouraged to be creative in their play and exploration.
About this park: Johnson Creek Park sits at the intersection of two creeks: Crystal Springs and Johnson Creek. It has a rocky beach that often has slow, shallow water for exploring. Consider having children wear bathing suits, and wear shoes that can get wet. Stay after the walk to play at the playground, or have a picnic in a shady meadow.
