Featured Camp of the Week: Girls on the Run

From our friends at Girls on the Run:

Unlock your child’s limitless potential this spring!

Register your child for a spring of growth and empowerment with Girls on the Run! Throughout the 8-week program, teams meet twice weekly in groups of up to 15 where volunteer coaches facilitate research-based lessons that incorporate physical activity in a fun and engaging way while cultivating social emotional development.

Your child will connect with peers, stay active, and build healthy habits and resiliency that can last a lifetime.

Girls on the Run programming is designed to foster new, positive relationships between peers, and we strive to create an environment inclusive of participants with varying physical abilities, cultural identities, and gender identities. We use the word “girl” in the gender expansive sense of the word and welcome the participation of youth that identify as girls, gender expansive, or gender non-conforming.

Hear what one Fall 2021 caregiver had to say about GOTR, “my daughter gained confidence in her ability to complete a goal she set for herself and built social bonds with friends.”

We currently offer Girls on the Run for 3rd-5th graders and Heart & Sole for 6th-8th graders throughout the Portland Metro area and beyond. Learn more about these programs here.

The season begins the week of March 21st for Washington teams, and the week of March 28th for Oregon teams and ends with the Girls on the Run 5K on Saturday, May 21st.

The cost of the program is $180 with financial assistance options available through the registration form. “Early Bird” pricing of $160 is available to those who register prior to February 18th.

We’re excited to welcome teams and families back together for the Portland Metro Girls on Run 5K at Blue Lake Regional Park. Modifications to these events will be made as appropriate to follow safety guidelines for outside gatherings at that time.
