Featured Camp of the Week: Mad Science

Mad Science programs are designed to spark imaginative learning! Our camps engage students in a series of fun hands-on experiments and demonstrations that include at least one take-home science project. Every Mad Science camp covers a new science topic each day, and includes a t-shirt and daily take-home science projects for every camper. Our camps are designed to be inquiry-based, hands-on learning opportunities for children and offer them a chance to see just how cool science can be!

We have locations throughout the metro area.

Camp topics:

IN THE GARDEN
A fun and hands-on introduction to basic environmental science. Your budding scientist will explore how living things grow and how they interact with the environment around them.  

IMAGINATION ACADEMY
Discover, create, and play! Join in the fun as we imagine and learn as inventors, astronauts, paleontologists, physicists and more! 

JUNIOR SCIENCE EXPLORERS
Decipher the world all around us in this exciting camp designed just for your young scientist! Campers will develop their earth awareness and explore this world as junior naturalists before heading for space as junior astronauts.  

MOVING WITH SCIENCE
Join the Mad Scientist in a fun-filled exploration of how science keeps our world moving.  Take a close-up look at a wide array of scientific disciplines including chemistry, ornithology, engineering, physics, and optics. 

ROCKETS & THE SCIENCE OF FLIGHT
Space, rockets, planes and flight… a little bit of everything for a rockin’ good time! Our most popular camp, younger campers have a blast learning the hows and whys of aerodynamics by studying all things that fly: planes, kites, hot air balloons, helicopters and of course rockets.

BRIXOLOGY LEGO® ENGINEERING
Brixology sets the foundation for our next generation of makers! Learn about the exciting field of engineering as a Mad Scientist guides you and your team to accomplish engineering-themed projects using LEGO® bricks and other materials.

CREATIVE CONTRAPTIONS! The Inventor’s Camp
Creative contraption warning! Junior inventors go on a journey of discovery from the real life inventions and dreams of future inventions.  Each day campers are given a series of challenges which must be overcome using basic materials, simple machines, tips from famous inventors and the most important thing of all … their mind.  

ROCKET LAB
3…2…1…Blast Off! This camp is rockets, rockets and more rockets! Build and launch a rocket everyday as you learn all about, you guessed it, rockets!  Your child is in for an action-packed week focused entirely on rockets and the physics of rocket flight.  

SCENE OF THE CRIME
Blood spatter and brain matter, oh my! Not for the weak-hearted, this camp will let your scientist’s inner CSI scream! Enter the crime scene and see if your team can solve the crime.

SECRET AGENT LAB
Look out 007 – the Mad Science Secret Agent Lab is on the case! Step into the shoes of a spy in action from decoding messages, to metal detecting and using night vision goggles.

RADICAL ROBOTS
What is a robot and how do they function? Spend the week discovering the wonderful world of automation.  Learn the basics of electricity and hydraulics. Deepen your understanding of robotics by building your own robots to take home.

THE UNSEEN WORLD
Explore the world from the atoms on up! Make a lemon powered battery, find out how aspirin works and witness some frenetic fireworks. Discover how chemicals combine to form living cells and use a microscope to explore them up close. Learn how living cells combine to form functioning organs and what yours do for you. 

UNDERGROUND EXPLORERS
Learn about archaeology and the techniques scientists use to excavate long lost cities. Study bone fragments, pottery shards, amber deposits, and fossils.  Create your own versions to study long after the week is through.
