Great PDX Camps with Space Available in Late Summer

If you haven’t booked all your summer camps yet, don’t panic! Some fantastic camps all over Portland still have spaces available! Here are 13 camps with space available:

Lovegood Performing Arts Company

Lovegood Performing Arts Company is a Beaverton based youth performing arts education and performance company.  Lovegood has an exciting lineup of summer theater camps and workshops.  Musical theater kids camps include: Magic Tree House Collections: Pirates Past Noon KIDS and Disney’s Aladdin KIDS.  Workshop options are available including: Improv, Technical Theater, and ELEVATE Dance intensive.  Each culminates in a live performance for friends and family at the end of the week on the Lovegood stage!


360 Arts Camp

 Hurry!  Register campers to attend the 29th Cognizart by MetroArts Inc. 360 Arts Camp before we fill up! 

 For three incredible weeks, July 11-15, July 18-22, and July 25-29, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., campers ages 6 1/2 to 12 will explore and create in visual arts, music, theatre, and dance in an environment that fosters self-confidence and community at the Newmark Theatre & World Forestry Center. Scholarships are available.


Northeast Community Center

Bike safety and maintenance are the focus here! Campers will meet at the NECC each morning and end the day swimming in the NECC’s indoor pool! Campers learn the rules of the road, how to fix a flat tire, and how to complete their own bike maintenance and safety manual. Games and group rides to parks teach riders proper biking safety.


Mad Science of Portland & Vancouver

Explore! Experiment! Discover! Mad Science Camp gives kids the opportunity to learn about the world around them through hands-on activities and exciting demonstrations. Robots! Rockets! Investigations! Inventions! There is something for everyone at Mad Science Camp.

Half day and full day options available!

Class size is limited. PPE available. Rooms and equipment cleaned before and after each class.


Oregon Children’s Theatre

OCT’s Summer Acting Academy starts next week! Join us this summer for classes at three different Portland Metro locations. Whether you’re looking to learn new skills and hone your craft, or just looking for some summertime fun, OCT has classes for every age and experience level. Classes are filling quickly, so register today!


Children’s Healing Art Project

There are still spots left in our Inclusive Summer Art Workshops and Dailies here at the Children’s Healing Art Project (CHAP)! In-person and virtual options available for everyone to join in on the summer art fun!

Sojourn Church

Sojourn Kids Camp consist a of a variety of activities for kids to have fun and interact with others in the community. There will be sports (basketball and soccer), group games, and crafts.

George Fox University

George Fox University offers Maker Camp 2022 for high school students who like to figure things out, create innovative projects and explore new technologies in making. This is a STEM camp that emphasizes curiosity, creativity, and entrepreneurial mindset. Campers will spend a week in the university Maker Hub enjoying hands-on learning, making friends, and having fun!


Balance Soccer

The Most Fun Overnight Soccer Camp Ever!  Balance offers a soccer camp with an old fashioned summer camp vibe; outdoors all the time with a ton of activities and just too much to do in one day for even the most ambitious and energetic camper.

Atlas Immersion Academy

Learn Spanish this summer as we explore different cultures & countries at Atlas Explorers Summer Camp! Atlas Silicon Forest, in Tanasbourne, still has room most weeks in this school age camp; Atlas Gabriel Park has limited spots for French or Spanish some weeks. Oregon Society of Artists

OSA Youth Summer Art Camp: Celebrate Your Heritage⁠
Session 1: July 18 – 22⁠
Session 2: July 25 – 29⁠
Monday – Friday | 9am – 12pm
$250 | includes supplies and snacks!⁠

Each camper will design, draw and paint a visual interpretation of their cultural heritage. Students will explore their personal heritage and traditions and learn about the cultural stories and backgrounds of their fellow campers as well.

Individual painted panels will hang collectively to become a mural that depicts the gather of our many global traditions to celebrate our one world together! The finished mural will be displayed prominently on the outside of the OSA building where it can be viewed by the public.

Price includes supplies and snacks!


AudioCinema

Art Camp at AudioCinema with artist/ teacher, ilan Laks is a fun and safe way for your child to spend the day. They will paint, draw, use clay, do puppet making, collage, tie dye, as well as dance, karaoke, and healthy amounts of movement and silliness. It is limited to ten children at a time, so everyone gets a lot of attention, space, and supplies, in our air conditioned and roomy studio. 🙂


A-WOl Dance Collective

Join A-WOL for a variety of camps and single day workshops this summer. Students can focus on building their aerial skills or work on performance, choreography, dance, and more. Class offerings are available to new and experienced aerialists ages 8yrs- 17yrs.
