There is nothing like a good scare for Halloween and the metro area has lots of frightful opportunities. Many have coupons on their sites or through internet coupon sites, so you might even get a discount on your shivers. Some also offer VIP tickets for an extra charge that takes you to the front of the line.

Parents: use caution with these creepy houses. Some are way too scary for the youngest goblins.

Younger Kids

♥ Fantasy Trail at Wenzel Farm ♥Closed for 2020 season
What: Take a Halloween walk through a lighted, wooded, Fantasy Trail, decorated with spooky sights and sounds. Pumpkins and refreshments are available.

Haunted Hotel Spirit of Halloweentown in St. Helens is open for all ages with new COVID-19 processes. There are two versions: “full-scare” and “family friendly.” Open Thursday through Sunday.

♥Mystery Manor♥No info for 2020
What: Our kids’ show is a museum-style walk-through allowing you to go through at your own pace. There are no live actors in the Mystery Manor Haunted house. There are themed rooms that are not too scary or gory. The animatronics are easy motion and not too jumpy. Tips: Bring a flashlight!

The Oaks Park Haunted Drive-Thru
What: Drive through one of five staged shows at a contact-less experience. Choose from five different experiences, and they are planning matinee/more family-friendly times. $69.99 per car. Advance purchase required.

FearlandiaNot open for 2020 season
What:  Typically too scary for anyone under the age of 13, Fearlandia is now offering Not as Scary Day on October 20 to accommodate families. The haunted house will guide you through a ghost hunt with fewer, kid-friendly monsters and light.

Cost: Not as Scary Day is $5 with perishable donation

What: Four-part haunted house open in 2020 with social distancing modifications and timed ticketing.

A Virtual Halloween – Closed for 2020 season
What: Come down to Uncharted Realities during the month of October to get your “scare” on. Using Virtual Reality you can experience terror like never before. We will have both adult and kid-friendly versions of our scare passes. See website for more details! We will also be holding a month-long contest — our 2nd annual Zombie Apocalypse Showdown. Grab a friend and see how long you can last against attacking zombies. Win a cash prize!

What:  Watch a drive-in movie with actors creating a live-action horror experience outside your car.

Milburn’s Haunted ManorClosed for 2020 season
What: The zombies are back at Milburn’s Haunted Manor, Oregon’s scariest haunted house.
Dates: October 4-6, 11-13, 18-20, 25-27 and 30-31

Recommended ages: Hauntings are rated PG-13.

What: This haunted house has two separate attractions — TJ’s Backyard and Into the Darkness. It’s located right next to the Circuit Gym, so you can climb away your fear after, or have those too scared to enter hang out there and meet you after. October 20 from noon-4 pm is family “Not as scary” day.
Dates: Weekends starting October 5, 11-12, 18-19, 24-26, 31, November 1-2
