Our 2020 readers’ poll winners for best kids musicians and performers around Portland.
WINNER: Red Yarn
Red Yarn, aka Andy Furgeson, and his puppet critters have been charming young Portland audiences for years. And we love that his Americana folk-rock tunes don’t just get kids hopping like squirrels — they also get kids thinking about and standing up for equal rights. Be sure to check out his latest album, Backyard Bop.
Kelli Welli is a musical mom to 6-year-old twins, who writes songs for kids and the people who love them. Her fun and hilarious shows feature the mostly original songs she’s written for kids—and for parents, too.
For over 6 years, Micah and Me has been entertaining and inspiring kiddos and their caregivers with catchy toe-tapping songs, bubbles and crazy hats!
Tallulah’s Daddy’s shows are a sweet mix of original songs, fun covers and traditional tunes (often with a twist!). You can also catch him playing bass in several of Portland’s favorite kindie bands.
