It’s Excessive Celebration for everyone as the Rose Festival’s waterfront activities kick off on May 27 at 5pm for Memorial Day weekend for three consecutive weekends at Gov. Tom McCall Waterfront Park: May 27-30, June 2-5, and June 9-12, 2016.
Opening Night Fireworks presented by The Oregonian ǀ OregonLive on Friday night, May 27 features a concert by the Rocktarts in the RoZone – FREE with admission – and a huge fireworks display synchronized to great music provided by Live 95.5. Carnival fun is happening all along the waterfront, and after dark the “big wheel” Ferris wheel will light up like never before, with all-new LED lights. Rides are even more affordable if you plan ahead. Unlimited Ride Wristbands are only $37.50 each when purchased online through May 26 (a $12.50 savings!), and if you’d like to save on admission, get a CityFair Season Pass – the 2016 Rose Festival Souvenir Pin – and wear it to get in any day CityFair is open (pins are available at Fred Meyer stores and select Oregon Duck stores while supplies last). We’re open all day on Memorial Day, May 30, too – bring the family out for a holiday tradition!
For three weekends in a row, CityFair is jam-packed with music on the Rose City Stage and the Bridgetown stage, along with A Walk on the Wild Side exotic animals, stories in the SMART Reading Corner, arts & crafts in the Kids Zone, and cool artifacts in the Rose Festival’s Jim Neill Memorial Museum – all FREE with CityFair admission. There’s even more live music in the RoZone, with ten concerts to appeal to a variety of musical tastes. Check out Waterfront Park’s premiere concert venue FREE with CityFair admission for these four concerts: Friday, May 27 with the Rocktarts, Sunday, May 29 with Patrick Lamb, Monday, May 30 (Memorial Day) for a “Symphony Safari” with the Portland Columbia Symphony Orchestra, and Friday, June 10 with Hit Machine. Six big name acts hit the Bob Lanphere’s Beaverton Honda Stage in RoZone, so buy your tickets early before they sell out (your RoZone concert ticket includes CityFair admission all day on the day of show). Saturday, May 28, join us for a booty-shaking good time with Sir Mix-A-Lot. On Friday, June 3, 105.9 The Brew presents Chevelle and Sick Puppies to rock in the RoZone. Saturday, June 4 join us for the 2nd annual Starlight After-Party with beats by Mija and Team EZ, as we stay open late – past midnight – for post-parade fun for all ages. On Sunday, June 5 grab your boots and your cowboy hat for the 98.7 The Bull CountryFest, starring Easton Corbin, Granger Smith (aka Earl Dibbles, Jr.) and up-and-coming artist Kane Brown. The tunes continue Saturday, June 11 for the KINK H2O show featuring hometown favorites, Everclear. Sunday, June 12 bring the family down for El Día de 93.1 El Rey en El Rose Festival 2016 featuring La Nobleza de Aguililla and La Mar-K de Tierra Caliente. June 8 – 12, Fleet Week is a highlight along the waterfront sea wall, and the amazing all-floral float creations from the Spirit Mountain Casino Grand Floral Parade will line Naito Parkway on Saturday afternoon and Sunday (June 11-12) for up-close viewing, punctuating a rosy end to Rose Festival Waterfront activities. Pause to relax in the Rose City Taphouse presented by Portland Brewing Co. and sample brews from 25 taps, or grab a cocktail (the Riveter is our favorite) from Eastside Distilling.
There’s something for everyone at Rose Festival CityFair!
