Every Monday-Wednesday at FLIP, we focus on a specific culture, community, or holiday and offer stories and crafts on that theme. This week, we are highlighting World Adoption Day (Nov. 9). Arrive by 10:30 if you want to hear the story. The crafts will focus on hand-art and will be available the whole day, 9:30-1:30.
Why hand art? In 2015, an organization called AdoptTogether began the tradition of drawing a smiley face on your hand to represent adoption. It symbolizes joy and love, and connects people around the world. The smiley face also helps spread awareness and celebrate the lives that are touched by adoption.
