Travelers from all across the multiverse are invited to Geek Gate Galactica, an all-ages picnic event from noon to 9 p.m. on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at Director Park in downtown Portland. This event, part of the annual Geek Week PDX series, invites native Portlanders and visitors to experience a day of entertainment, education, and earthly delights. Participants will share what they geek out about, and how that can better the reality we find ourselves living in.
The event will feature a variety of activities and attractions, including:
- Live entertainment throughout the day from local musical artists, poets, and performers.
- A barter bazaar where attendees can trade or sell handmade goods and crafts.
- A community hub connecting attendees with local wellness and resource groups.
- A dedicated gamer hub for questers.
This event is also a “backpack bazaar,” with local artists and makers vending their creations. Attendees are encouraged to bring items to sell and trade, as well as their own food and beverages to enjoy.
Geek Gate Galactica is a picnic for everyone, with the goal of bringing together the unique and vibrant communities that make Portland special. It’s the perfect place to decompress from Rose City Comic Con and discover some of the hidden gems Portland has to offer. The event is free and open to the public.
