Brook Rice, the artist behind the beloved free Pumpkin Display in West Linn, is basically the Santa of Halloween. While he’s taking a hiatus from hosting his own display this year, Rice has still made it easy for families to enjoy the season. He’s put together Halloween home display routes for anyone who wants to make a night of it — and the best part? These homes are free to visit.

To create the route, Rice consulted the Northwest Haunters Association map and the Pacific Northwest Christmas Lights map. After choosing homes within a geographic area from both maps, Rice visited all the homes on the route and chose favorites based on impact, originality, handmade decorations, and the enthusiasm of the owner. Then Rice ran the route five to six times before finalizing it. We re-ran the full loop again this year, and the home displays are as fabulously spooky as ever.

Thanks to all of Rice’s research, looking for Halloween home displays has never been easier.

We share the routes here, with permission, to spread the word about these fantastic displays. Please note that the route has been slightly edited from Rice’s original to reflect this year’s displays.

Important: Each home display will have different hours for lights and special effects. Check their social accounts or websites for hours if available, but most will be active on weekends.
