June Taylor’s School of Dance
Since 1984, June Taylor's School of Dance has been dedicated to providing dancers of all ages with the highest quality of dance education possible, starting at the age of three. We follow the Royal Academy of Dance (R.A.D.) method and work with dancers to develop a strong technical foundation that prepares them for a future career in dance if that is a path they wish to pursue. Under the direction of internationally acclaimed June Taylor-Dixon, our R.A.D. accredited faculty nurtures the talent of each student as they grow to reach their fullest potential. Students are given the opportunity to perform and grow in their self-expression, confidence, and love for dance in a personal, positive, and professional environment. We invite students and parents to observe classes and contact our office to learn more about our curriculum.
At the end of each school year, JTSD produces a full-length children’s classical ballet which gives the children the experience of performing in a large-scale story ballet. Past performances include The Sleeping Beauty, Coppelia, Cinderella, and Alice In Wonderland. Pre-professional students also get the opportunity to audition for Northwest Dance Theatre, a non-profit dance company directed by June Taylor-Dixon established in 1988 which performs several times throughout the year in the greater Portland area, including seven performances of A Nutcracker Tea.
