KidDo-Re-Mi is a group music class for babies/toddlers with their adult. Join us for exciting songs and activities designed to enrich and nurture our love for music! KidDo-Re-Mi emphasizes singing with solfege syllables (like do-re-mi) to help develop a solid understanding of pitch and musical relationships. We provide hands-on opportunities to create music on piano and keyboard instruments, as well as percussion and other musical toys. And of course- there’s bubbles!
Contact marysutton.piano@gmail.com to sign-up, and for the exact address. Sign-up is available until 9:30 am the morning of the class. Classes are held on Sundays from 10:00-10:45 in NE Portland near the Grotto. $10-$20 sliding scale. Please follow @kiddo_re_mi on instagram for scheduling updates.
KidDo-Re-Mi is led by pianist, composer, and mother Mary Sutton Torres, who has over 20 years of teaching experience and an ever-growing passion for music education. Mary has released four albums of original music under the name Saloli, and holds music degrees from New England Conservatory and PSU. She was inspired to create KidDo-Re-Mi because her elementary teacher taught her to sing with solfege and it changed her life! Mary started teaching her toddler to sing in solfege since he was a baby, and now he sings all the time with confidence, joy, and in tune! Let’s have some fun and sing!
