Place Your Order for a Holiday Pie Here

It’s hard to hate a holiday pie but the work they take to make? Now that can be tough, particularly with a kid. Consider these seven local spots for a delicious addition to your holiday table this year.

Lauretta Jean’s

Would this even be a Portland pie roundup if we didn’t mention Lauretta Jean’s on Division? The iconic pie shop serves classic flavors like pumpkin and apple as well as modern twists like chocolate bourbon pecan and salted honey. We recommend placing your order early; this place gets busy!

Caffe Destino

This restaurant on Fremont offers a lot more than pies, but we think you’ll enjoy the lineup and the price ($37 plus a $5 pie pan deposit). When you stop by to pick up your order, consider a breakfast sandwich or morning bowl, too.

The Pie Spot

It’s all in the name, no? These little cuties, self-dubbed the “cupcake of pie,” at the Pie Spot on NE 24th Avenue are small but mighty and include flavors like s’more and blueberry ginger. Al Roker sure seemed to like them. There are also gluten-free and vegan options available.

Bakeshop

Bakeshop on Sandy Boulevard is well-known for its James Beard Award-winning cookbook author and baker Kim Boyce, which may explain the option to ship these treats nationwide. Give the fall menu a read before placing your order (handpies, anyone?).

Petunia’s Pies & Pastries

Self-proclaimed as Portland’s original gluten-free and vegan bakery, Petunia’s has a long history of serving up delicious baked goods including plenty o’ pies. We think you’ll particularly value this downtown shop’s attention to details, including listing out potential allergens for all of their flavors.

Bipartisan Cafe

We’ll leave it to you to decide if these are, as this Stark Street cafe claims, “the best pies in Portland” but we do appreciate Bipartisan Cafe’s commitment to making all of their pies from scratch “like Hobie’s grandma used to make them.” Vegan options available.
