
When you have little kids, there’s one big problem with Halloween – the trick or treating starts so late! Neighborhood businesses across Portland accommodate our little ghouls and goblins, opening their doors to trick or treaters well before the sun goes down. Whether it’s your pre-trick or treating routine or the whole shebang, here are some great options for Portland-area daytime trick or treating.
Trick or Treat at the Streets of Tanasbourne. Trick or treating at participating merchants for children in costume ages 12 and under, while supplies last! October 30, 2-6p.
Meet Llamas and Trick or Treat at Gresham Station. Need we say more? Oct 30, 11a-3p.
Trick or Treat on Mississippi Avenue. October 31, 3-6p. Mississippi Pizza Pub and several other businesses will be handing out candy.
Downtown Milwaukie Trick or Treating. Milwaukie’s Downtown Businesses on both SE Main St. and SE 21st Ave. invite you to put on your Halloween costumes and bring the kids to trick or treat. October 30, 2-5p.
Booverton Trick-or-Treat. Trick-or-treating in downtown Beaverton returns! See their website for a map of participating locations. October 31 from 1pm-3pm
Bethany Village Halloween Hunt. Walk around the village to participating merchants to collect goodies! Oct 30, 2-4p.
Troudale Trick-or-Treat. The businesses along Historic Columbia River Highway will host a Halloween Trick-or Treat event. Oct 30, 4-5:30p.
Monster Mash Drive-Thru. Join the Lake Oswego Parks & Recreation for an afternoon of frightful fun! Dress up in a spooktacular Halloween costume, decorate your vehicle and drive through town to trick-or-treat locations and collect sweets, treats, toys and trinkets. Oct 31, 1-4p.
Howloween at the Zoo. The zoo provides a fun and safe setting for this Halloween tradition, where costumed trick-or-treaters learn about wildlife in a fun scavenger hunt throughout the zoo. In keeping with the zoo’s mission, Howloween aims to be educational as well as fun. Scavenger hunts and activities are themed to teach kids about animals around the world and their habitats and adaptations. Instead of the traditional trick-or-treat, treat bags are available at the end of the scavenger hunt for an additional fee of $3 per participant. Activities are best suited for children 2-12, but all are welcome. Cost is free with zoo admission. 9:30a-3p on Oct. 23, 24 and 28–31.
Orenco Station Trick-or-Treating. Wear a costume, bring a goody bag for treats and pick up a map of participating businesses! October 31, 1:30-4p.
Happy Valley Farmers Market Trick-or-Treating. Wear your favorite costume and celebrate the final Market of the season. Trick-Or-Treat over 110 Vendors, listen to live music, shop local and enjoy delicious foods. There will be lots of fun surprises throughout the day,
special guest appearance by some fun characters and a pumpkin carving station. October 30, 9a-2p.
Trick or Treat Alberta Street. Alberta Street businesses with Trick or Treat Alberta Street posters on display will be providing treats to costumed children as they trick or treat up and down NE Alberta Street. October 31, 3:30-6p.
Halloween in the Village. In lieu of their traditional trick-or-treat event, Multnomah Village is hosting a virtual costume contest. October 29-31.
Trick or Treat on Main Street, Oregon City. An annual tradition — dress up and bring your kids. Downtown Businesses will be handing out candy to trick or treaters. October 29, 4-6p.
Trick or Treat on Main Street, Tigard. Trick or treaters and their families are invited to join downtown merchants and others for this fun event. Look for the flyer in participating businesses windows. October 30, 2-5p.
Candy Crawl at Cedar Hills Crossing. Come out for a fun and safe trick or treating at Cedar Hills Crossing. Look for the bright orange sign on the windows of participating stores and restaurants (exterior and interior merchants!). October 31, 4:30-6p.
Trick or Treat at the Sherwood Plaza. Trick or Treat at the Sherwood Plaza is a 25 year tradition. Rain or shine with their wide covered sidewalks. Oct 31, 3-5p
Trick or Treat on the Trail at Dolan Creek Farms. If you’re up for a drive, bring your young children for lots of cute photo ops around the farm in costume. Enjoy trick or treating on the nature trail. Pet the animals and enjoy tractor rides. Oct 31, 10:30a-2:30p, Boring, OR. $20/car, includes all activities.
Trick or Treat for Toddlers at Kowabunga Indoor Playspace. Reservation required, only 10 kids at a time. $10 for two hours. October 30, 9a-5p.
Trunk or Treat at Portland Christian Center. Fun, free, safe event for families and kids of all ages. October 30, 11a-2p.
Celebrate Halloween & Día De Muertos at Portland Mercado. Visit the community Altar exhibition on display inside the market hall, and enjoy the music, offerings, crafts, movies, popcorn and more! On October 31 they’ll have trick or treating in the afternoon. October 31-Nov1.
