Enjoy a packed weekend of concerts, square dances, workshops, jamming, kids programming and much more at the Portland Old Time Music Gathering! This event brings some of the top performers in modern old time music to the Gathering stage in 2026, including Judy Hyman, Jeff Claus, Jake Blount, Clinton Davis and many others. The gathering has a range of free and paid events, and it takes place at various locations in Portland. Kids under 16 get in for free to all events.
The Portland Oregon Old-Time Music Gathering is a grassroots volunteer-run festival that aims to celebrate and enrich the community of traditional old-time Appalachian style stringband musicians. The goal is to create an environment where the music is as meaningful as it is when we gather to swap tunes and play in a friend’s living room or meet to play at a campsite during a summer festival.
