The Portland Ballet presents Firebird and Petrushka

In an all-Stravinsky double-bill program, we’re bringing John Clifford’s Firebird and Tom Gold’s Petrushka back to the PSU Lincoln Hall stage this Thanksgiving weekend.

John Clifford’s retelling of Michel Fokine’s The Firebird tells the enchanting tale of a magical bird and a young prince’s quest to break an evil sorcerer’s spell. With its vibrant costumes, stunning choreography, and Stravinsky’s evocative score, this ballet is a feast for the senses.

Tom Gold’s Petrushka offers a unique twist on the classic tale of three puppets. Set at the Heathman Hotel in the glamorous 1950s, Petrushka loves a dazzling lounge singer, who happens to love a dashing doorman. Searching for freedom and acceptance, Petrushka’s timeless story is brought to life with fresh energy and inventive staging.

Witness two of Stravinsky’s most beloved works brought to life by our talented dancers!
