The middle of June is giving us peak Portland summer: park parties, neighborhood festivals, Renaissance Faire magic, Pride events, Juneteenth celebrations, free concerts, summer reading kickoffs and a whole lot of reasons to get out of the house.

๐ The Shack at Sellwood Park Opening Day + Everything Under the Sun Parade
The Shack is back for its second season at Sellwood Park, kicking things off with music, crafts, trolley rides and community fun for all ages. Come for opening day, then keep it on your summer radar for free recreation equipment rentals, activities and programming for kids, families, teens and adults.
And if youโre looking for even more Sellwood fun, check out the Everything Under the Sun Parade, a people-powered joy parade celebrating creativity and community. The parade begins at Llewellyn Elementary and ends at The Shack.

๐ Foster Summer Soirรฉe
Foster Summer Soirรฉe returns for an afternoon of neighborhood fun along SE Foster Road. Expect live entertainment, sidewalk sales, pop-up market vendors, special events and plenty of community energy from Foster-Powell, Mt. Scott-Arleta and beyond. Bring the family, stroll the street and make an afternoon of it.

If you can’t get enough festivals the Water Lantern Festival is also happening this weekend at Laurelhurst Park with live music, food, activities and lanterns released on the water at sunset.

๐ฐ Oregon Renaissance Faire
Hear ye, hear ye! The Oregon Renaissance Faire continues in Canby this weekend, bringing jousting, costumed characters, artisan vendors, entertainment, food and plenty of medieval fun. Kids can dress up, wander the village and fully commit to the bit. We hear the line to get in can be long, so go prepared with snacks/activities for little ones.

๐ Pride Events Around Portland
Pride season is going strong, with family-friendly celebrations all around the metro area. This weekendโs lineup includes events at OMSI and Garden Home Rec Center, plus the Oregon Pride March, and community celebrations in Vancouver and Wilsonville. โค๏ธ Freedom, Food, and Fellowship in Hillsboro
Celebrate Juneteenth in Hillsboro with a vibrant community gathering featuring local vendors, including Black-owned businesses, artisans, community organizations, food, refreshments, live music and entertainment. The lineup includes DJ Brandon Dean, Fenix Rising Band, Ms. Vee and a Badass Band, plus dance performances and interactive fun.
