BOLD is thrilled to host a special children’s storytime with Jasmine Sears, author of The Little Red Hen Learns How to Ask for Help.
Join us Saturday morning for children’s storytime! Local author Jasmine Sears will read her new picture book, The Little Red Hen Learns How to Ask for Help, a positive twist on a classic folktale. Children will get a coloring page and bookmark to take home, too! The shop carries juice, snacks, cookies, cinnamon rolls, and other items for kids—and adults, we hope you enjoy a delicious coffee or tea drink while your child is entertained.
The Little Red Hen Learns How to Ask for Help
In this charming twist on a classic folktale, the Little Red Hen’s first attempt to get help ends in failure due to her blunt delivery and poor choice of who to ask. Engaging text and expressive watercolor illustrations convey her friends’ frustration, leading the Little Red Hen to be more thoughtful the second time around.
Jasmine Sears is a Mexican-American children’s book author who draws inspiration from places and cultures around the globe. Jasmine grew up in Oregon; following a B.S. in English and a Ph.D. in Quantum Optics, she now works on Augmented and Virtual Reality from her home in Portland.
