Multnomah Playschool

Multnomah Playschool (MPS) is a parent-run cooperative preschool nestled in Southwest Portland, Oregon. We welcome children aged 3 through Pre-K into an inclusive community where they can grow, play, and thrive.

At MPS, our mission is simple: to create a safe, healthy, and engaging environment where kids can discover who they are and how they fit into the world. Our play-based curriculum is rooted in social anti-bias principles, encouraging curiosity, creativity, and a deep appreciation for diversity.

Every day at MPS is full of hands-on learning! Children build social skills, strengthen motor development, express themselves through creative activities, and practice verbal communication—all while having fun. Outdoor play is a big part of our routine, and our spacious, nature-inspired play area is an extension of the classroom, where exploration and discovery continue.

What sets us apart is our cooperative model. Parents don’t just drop off their kids; they join in the journey. From participating in the classroom to helping shape the school’s operations, parents and teachers work together to create a truly collaborative experience that benefits the entire family.
