Our story begins in 2018 with founder Megan O’Mara, who spent years as a babysitter in her local community in and around Portland, Oregon. While creating connections with children and families, she discovered how difficult it was for families to find reliable and trustworthy caregivers. Simultaneously, it was hard for people like her to connect with families needing help with childcare despite the existence of the internet. Platforms to find childcare existed, but they were too inundated with options, overwhelming, and unreliable. Megan wanted to create a platform with a personal touch that eliminated the need for families to sift endlessly through potential babysitters and nannies.
Megan found a problem and was determined to find a solution. With that, Sitter Setter was born - a boutique childcare agency that provides families with the highest quality sitters and nannies.
