2025 PDDBM Black History Month Fashion Show: Showcasing Young Designers and Black Creativity in Fashion

Come join us at the Fort Vancouver High School for a spectacular display of African American fashion and culture. This in-person event will showcase the latest trends, designs, and styles celebrating the rich heritage of Black history. Get ready to be inspired by talented designers and models as they strut their stuff on the runway. Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to witness the beauty and creativity of Black fashion. Mark your calendars and be a part of this unforgettable experience!

On Saturday, February 8, 2025, PDDBM will host its annual Black History Month Fashion Show from 9 AM to 6 PM. This event celebrates the contributions of African Americans to the U.S. fashion industry since the 1860s and highlights young, emerging designers from PDDBM’s Fashion Design Afterschool Program. Middle and high school students will showcase their work for the first time, demonstrating their creativity, talent, and dedication.

Featured student designers include:

  • Yuri Jones, 6th Grade, Vancouver School of Arts
  • Dedrick Kinsey, Jr., 10th Grade, Rooted School of Vancouver
  • Kai Pryor, 9th Grade, Flex Academy
  • Jaxon Bon, 6th Grade, Discovery Middle School
  • Quartavious Pratcher, 6th Grade, Discovery Middle School
  • Ariyanah Smith, 6th Grade, Discovery Middle School
  • Aubreana Bates, 6th Grade, Discovery Middle School
  • Marianna Leonard, 8th Grade, Jim Tangeman Center/Fort Vancouver High School
  • Samantha Sanchez Valdez, 9th Grade, Hudson Bay High School
  • Kabriah Nocita, 5th Grade, Crestline Elementary School

These young designers bring fresh perspectives and unique designs, which will be available for purchase immediately following the show. Additional highlights include a West African Tribal Hairstyle Exhibit, a Silent Auction, a Mini African American Fashion Designer Museum, and an authentic West African plated meal.
