Ballet Fundamentals does not require previous ballet, but they must already be at least 7 years old. Parents sit on the side and observe their dancers, or may leave during class and return, in-person, for pickup.
Students will focus on building core strength, proper posture, basic foot positions, and body awareness through structured floor and gentle barre work. Young dancers learn foundational steps that use simple French terminology, and work on classroom etiquette. This class prepares students who are interested in continuing with higher level ballet classes such as Level 1.
Ballet leotard and tights with slippers, or ballet leggings and shirt with slippers are required. There are no requirements on colors. NO TUTUS. Wrap skirts that are knee length or shorter are wonderful but no required. Sweaters, leggings or sweat pants are optional if your dancer feels cold.
Long hair or bangs must be pulled up and out of the dancer’s face. No street shoes by anyone on the dance floor.
Please bring a water bottle with water.
$15 payable by cash or card at the time of the class.
