About Leaven Community: Anchored in the Vernon and Alberta neighborhoods, Leaven Community was born from the legacy of a historically multicultural and multi-ethnic congregation with deep roots in relational community organizing. In 2010, the declining congregation initiated a process of deep listening with neighbors to address the effects of gentrification, racism, substance abuse, and other root causes of inequality and oppression in the community. That process led to the birth in 2013 of Leaven Community — a community-sourced nonprofit whose mission is to ignite the power of our relationships in our shared stories to act collectively with our neighbors for more equitable, diverse, and thriving neighborhoods.

About Portland Fruit Tree Project: We care for the trees that feed and shade our community; annually harvesting and donating over ten thousand pounds of fruit that would otherwise be wasted. We invite you to tour our fruit fridge during the event!

About Sparrowhawk Native Plants: Instead of a traditional brick-and-mortar nursery, we offer online sales of premium-quality native plants, with neighborhood pop-up events in Portland, Oregon and surrounding communities each fall and spring for picking up your order. Each pop-up is hosted in partnership with a different community organization that gets a percent of the proceeds. Wetlands Conservancy is our beneficary. Through this innovative model, you’re planting in the right seasons for our climate, scoring unbeatable prices, supporting insects and wildlife, all while giving back to your community!

About Freeya: The Freeya marketplace app takes the pain out of giving and getting free things in your neighborhood. The app manages all of the logistics, while still allowing for the flexibility we all need. Whether you’re purging and downsizing, or looking for that perfect, new (to you) thing, come see what it’s all about! Feel good knowing that your treasures will go on being treasured. Free Everything!
