Tualatin Valley Symphony – FAMILY CONCERT
The Blue Danube Waltz, a shrinking clarinet, Tubby the Tuba, and more.
June 7, 2026 at 3:00pm in Tigard Friends Community Church
Our annual Family Concert has the long-time favorite story piece Tubby the Tuba, with Mark Vehrencamp as tuba soloist and our Music Director Mark Perlman doing the story’s narration. We are also featuring cellist Isaiah Hsu in Dvorak’s Rondo for cello and orchestra, and clarinetist Richard Boberg playing a curious clarinet piece called Immer Kleiner [Always Smaller], in which the clarinet takes off pieces of the instrument as the work proceeds. We will also have a precocious 14-year-old violinist Mirabai Kreston-Duckles playing Lalo’s Symphonie espagnole.
Our Family Concerts are designed to be accessible to children while also being interesting and rewarding for adults.
Free admission for everyone!
