HOLI HAI! After four sold-out Holi Festivals Anjali & The Kid bring their color throw experience to Forest Grove for their biggest Holi yet featuring all organic colors handmade by farmers and tribal communities in India. A Bollywood and Bhangra dance party in the grass with Anjali’s Gulabi Gang dance troupe and the PDX Bhangra troupe.
Color throws at 4:30, 5:30 & 6:30PM.
Note that the actual date of Holi occurs in March, but in the Pacific Northwest celebrations of the festival are often pushed back as far as June (or if June is rained out, August!) to take advantage of better weather and dancing in the grass.
This event features only-organic powder, direct from India, made from flowers, seeds and vegetables (like rose, spinach, marigold and turmeric.)
Each paid entrance includes a packet of colors and a portion of the festival proceeds will benefit farmers in India. Other Holi festivals typically feature industrial dyes containing carcinogens; this event is committed to returning to plant-based powder which honors our connection to the earth.
Everyone is welcome at this all-ages event. Expect to get messy as Holi is celebrated by throwing bright colored powder on each other. Wearing white or old clothes is recommended.
No outside colors are allowed.

Anjali DJed her first Holi in the Portland metro area in 2002 and then a long series of Holi events over the decades including many years in the Seattle area with over 10,000 people in attendance. From the beginning Anjali saw how other promoters threw their events and wanted to do something different for her own festival. She wanted a Holi festival dedicated to the agricultural roots with a dance floor on the land, which necessitated a later start date in the PNW than the traditional date in March, to avoid trashing wet, soggy land that isn’t ready to have 1000s of people dancing on it. She envisioned a festival focused on organic powders hand-crafted in India and not synthetic neurotoxic factory products which often contain hazardous chemicals and heavy metals, like lead and mercury. In 2022 Anjali first partnered with Topaz Farm to throw four years of sold-out Holi festivals with 2,000 yearly in attendance and now in 2026 Anjali moves the party to McMenamin’s Grand Lodge in Forest Grove for an even larger celebration.
