Growing and Identifying Native Plants
Do you know the difference between native and nonnative plants? Native plants lived in our community long before European settlers arrived. Nonnative plants are from other areas that are introduced into different ecosystems. You can help pollinators like bees by adding natives to your lawn or garden. During the class you can see different plants, look for pollinators with magnifying glasses and take home native seeds to plant. Come and learn about the native plants in the garden at Jenkins estate! This is for youth ranging from ages 10 – 13. You can register by emailing i.barone@thprd.org.
Editor’s note: This event is a community submission.
