Spend the day with the herd at On Golden Rescue’s free Community Open House! Bring the family out to OGR’s beautiful 105-acre animal sanctuary in Oregon’s Coast Range for an afternoon of animals, activities and outdoor fun.
Meet more than 45 rescued horses, miniature horses, donkeys, goats and other animals who call the sanctuary home. Families can enjoy hayrides around the property, snap photos at the hay bale photo booth, stop by the kids’ craft station and learn more about the animals and On Golden Rescue’s mission to rescue, rehabilitate and provide a safe forever home for animals in need.
Admission is free! Advance reservations are requested to help OGR plan for parking, hayrides and craft supplies. The event will be held rain or shine, and closed-toe shoes are recommended.
Make a day of it! On your way to the sanctuary, grab a picnic lunch at Blue House Mediterranean Cafe in Vernonia, which will donate 10% of the day’s lunch proceeds to On Golden Rescue.
Editor’s note: This event is a community submission.
