Oregon K-12 Education Funding Forum

February 20 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

Why are PPS Schools underfunded and facing $40 million in cuts next year, after cutting $30 million this school year?

Do you want to do something about it, but don’t know how or  where to start?

Join your legislators at Roosevelt HS for a moderated and open Q&A education funding forum on Thursday, Feb. 20th from 7-8pm in the library.

Please RSVP and submit questions for a moderated Q&A

WHAT to expect:

  • Learn about Oregon’s education funding and what our Legislature is voting on between now and May.
  • Ask your legislators questions and get answers!
  • Walk away with simple, meaningful actions you can implement on your own time or with others.

WHO will be there:

We are bringing together state leaders to talk about education funding in Oregon and answer your questions:

  • Senator Lew Frederick (District 22, NE/N Portland), who is Chair of the Senate Education Committee and a member of the Joint Ways and Means Subcommittee On Education, among others.

  • Senator Lisa Reynolds (District 17 NW/N Portland), you might have heard about her Momnibus package that aims to support families during pregnancy and a child’s first year of life.

  • Rep. Travis Nelson (District 44, N Portland)

  • Rep. Shannon Isadore (District 33, NW/N Portland)
