Come join us for playtime, singing, basic American Sign Language, moving and shaking and friend-making! Our beautiful enclosed space is covered in soft mats, ideal for young children to crawl, roll, climb, and explore. Clean equipment is brought out each day; the modular play area and toys change from class to class.
Longtime teachers Lara & Wally share basic ASL with an emphasis on what is practical for helping parents and young children to communicate. Lara plays the ukulele while Wally helps sign.
Songs are sung, books are shared, parachutes, and scarves, instruments and puppets employed at circle time from 9:30-9:45. Open play is from 9-9:30 and social goodbyes (Community Cleanup/Open Play) start at 9:45. Ages 0-4 are welcome.
SWPMA and Southwest Portland Martial Arts is located inside the Multnomah Arts Center with a main entrance facing the large back parking lot (Lot D) off SW 31st Ave. *Opposite end of the lot as the play structure and covered ball court.
