Storytelling with Simple Rod Puppets

In this simple rod puppet workshop students will listen to a classic story and build easy rod puppets of the characters. The 1 hr workshop will conclude in a final performance by the students with their puppets. Each student will walk away with their own puppet. Playspace is available at anytime for students and workshop participation is always optional.
This workshop is designed for ages 2-6.
Doors will open 30 min before the workshop and stay open 30 min after. Students and family can use this time to explore the Mudland playspace. Parents are required to stay in the space during the workshop. There will be an area for the parents to hang and siblings to play during the workshop.
About the Artist:Zara Machatine was born and raised in the Shoestring Theater of Portland Maine. Growing up in the theatre she became an expert in Paper Mache, Marionette Theater, Storytelling, Stilt Walking, and Multi-Medium Performance Arts. She has 40 years of experience in adult and children’s puppetry and arts workshops. Zara is also a mother of 2 (an 18 year old daughter and 14 month old son)
