The Woodstock Neighborhood Association (WNA) will hold its annual Plant Sale on Saturday, May 9, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Woodstock Community Center (5905 SE 43rd Avenue).
The sale features donated native and xeriscape perennials, organic vegetable starts, herbs, ornamental grasses, ground covers, shrubs, and trees from neighborhood gardens and regional nurseries.
This year’s event also includes local artists and craft-makers selling handmade goods (10% of sales support the community center), a new Street Fair with neighborhood vendors offering food, drinks, merchandise, and services, and a kids arts & crafts table with hands-on activities for young visitors.
There are many ways to support the sale: purchase Plant Sale merchandise, sponsor a plant or table, donate raffle items or plants, or volunteer. Promotional opportunities are also available for business sponsors, with pre-event “shop the sale” perks for donors and volunteers.
This volunteer-led fundraiser, held in partnership with Portland Parks & Recreation since 2004, supports essential maintenance of the Woodstock Community Center and draws hundreds of neighbors each year. The event is also supported in part by funding from the City of Portland Office of Community & Civic Life and the SE Uplift Neighborhood Coalition.
