If there’s one thing the show Portlandia teaches us, it’s that we Portlanders love our bikes. Portland has earned its reputation as a bike-friendly city. Nearly six percent of the population commutes to work—about 12 times higher than the national average. There are bike paths or bake lanes throughout the city. And on many weekends, you’ll find a bike race to take part in or spectate.

But biking fun isn’t just limited to grownups. In a city where kids often learn to bike before they start Kindergarten, you can bet you’ll find lots of great things to do with kids by bike.
