After seasons on hold because of COVID, Portland-area performance-arts organizations are back and ready to showcase their holiday magic with these merry shows.
The Oregon Symphony has a whole slew of family-friendly performances from a screening of It’s a Wonderful Life to a mariachi Christmas concert.
Be sure to watch A Christmas Carol, The Musical, a fun twist on the Charles Dickens classic, presented by the Broadway Rose Theatre Company in Tigard.
For comedy fans, there’s Elf, the Musical (pictured above) on stage at Lakewood Theatre Company. Pro tip: Little audiences will enjoy the theater’s performances of Elf, Jr., on December 11 or 18.
Don’t miss the Oregon Ballet Theatre’s production of The Nutcracker or Portland Ballet’s A Victorian Nutcracker.
And the Oregon Children’s Theatre is putting on Merry Happy Everything, an original performance featuring works by local artists and musicians.
