For easy-to-order and even easier to devour steamed buns, soup dumplings and more, there’s The Dough Zone and Din Tai Fung. Both of these eateries have newly opened locations in Portland and the neighboring ‘burbs. Plus, don’t miss the new Xin Ding Dumpling House downtown.

A family-friendly favorite in the Kerns neighborhood, Friendship Kitchen recently opened a new location in Willamette Heights. And if you’re in Buckman, visit The Paper Bridge. Kids will love the smoothies with boba and jellies.

The folks behind Han Oak and Toki, opened Jeju — a Korean barbecue — last summer in East Portland.

Sushi

Portland’s outstanding sushi scene grew even bigger with the opening of: All Blue Poke on Hawthorne; Fish-San a takeout joint located in Portland State University; and a new location of Bamboo Sushi in Cedar Hills, to name a few. Don’t miss Sakura Yakitori in Happy Valley and Motto Motto Revolving Sushi Bar in the Clackamas Promenade. This place has a double decker sushi conveyor belt! 

Ramen

New locations of current Oregon favorites include: Boxer Ramen, which opened a west side location in Cedar Hills (this one also serves up bentos) and Kizuki Ramen & Izakaya in Northwest. In LO, visit the new Oswego Noodle House.
