No School November Camps

Are you looking for camps for your kids to do during no-school days in November? There are many programs all over the city that offer nature, science and horse camps plus much more. Check out the list below for ideas! 

Sellwood Community House

No school? No problem!
Whether it’s a teacher work day, holiday, or seasonal school breaks, Sellwood Community House offer camps for K-5 children that are chock full of games, crafts and activities.

Northwest Children’s Theater

Enrollment is open for Northwest Children’s Theater’s Wizard School Fall Break Camp! Join NWCT’s School of Witchcraft and Wizardry for three days of magic and adventure. Discover new fantastic beasts, learn how to cast spells, and earn house points in this full-day camp! Running November 25-27, 9 am-4 pm at The Judy in downtown Portland and Westminster Presbyterian in NE Portland. Register at nwcts.org/wizard-school.


Hoyt Arboretum

Get ready to “Fall Into Science” at the Hoyt Arboretum Visitor Center! Unleash your inner scientists and explore the inner workings of the natural world with simple science experiments led by nature educators. This is a free, drop in program.


Bird Alliance of Oregon

At Bird Alliance of Oregon No School and November Break Day Camps youth get to create nature-inspired art, discover and observe animal signs in our Sanctuary, learn about the life cycles of salmon in the Gorge, and so much more. Campers always get to play and explore, all while making friends and connecting to nature.


Sauvie Island Stables

Come enjoy Sauvie Island Stables’s 70 beautiful acres on Sauvie Island — camp days are filled with horse riding, goats, seasonal crafts, hikes and plenty of unstructured play.


Write Now Portland

Write Now Portland inspires, encourages and strengthens the writing of children and teens across Portland with summer camps and writer’s workshops. They offer half-day camps that boost creative writing or essay writing skills on teacher planning days and other no-school days, as well as ongoing weekly creative writing workshops for various age groups. Write Now Portland provides a place for kids to write what they want, freely and fearlessly, developing skills as they go.


Experiment PDX

Experiment PDX offers their popular STEAM camp on October and November no-school days, including Monday-Wednesday of Thanksgiving week and over winter break.  With LEGO Robotics, interactive science, craft & art projects, reading and unstructured time in their Hands-On Museum, it is a fun, low-pressure “playful learning” environment.
