GIVEAWAY: Win 4 Tickets to Oregon Symphony's "Hansel and Gretel"

PDX Parent is Excited to be Giving Away 4 tickets to Hansel and Gretel at the Oregon Symphony!

A brother and sister go wandering into the woods only to be captured by a sinister witch in a gingerbread house … Hansel and Gretel is one of the best known stories in the western world, and it’s getting some unusual treatment next month at the Oregon Symphony — and one lucky family of four will win tickets to opening night!

Engelbert Humperdinck’s 1893 opera is great for families. It omits the darkest parts of the Grimm Brothers’ original so that it appeals to adults while adding depth to the story children know so well. In the Oregon Symphony’s upcoming productions, they’re adding even more excitement by joining forces with Manual Cinema to bring the music to life with the dazzling, phantasmic effects of shadow puppetry. Flickering shadows will transform the concert hall with the dark mystery of the German forest, while the Oregon Symphony performs Humperdinck’s beloved music live, alongside six vocal soloists and the Pacific Youth Choir.

Win tickets to Oregon Symphony’s opening night production of Hansel and Gretel, Friday, February 1 at 7:30 pm at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall in downtown Portland. For information about the production or to purchase tickets, click here.

Not recommended for kids under age 7. Tickets start at $24.
