Portland-Area Ice Skating and Roller Skating Rinks

Looking to dust off those skates? Ice skating and roller rinks abound in Portland. Get ready for some good old fashioned family fun at these local skating rinks.

Ice Skating

Lloyd Center Ice Rink
Ice skate at the mall! This is a smaller-than-Olympic size rink, and it is quite warm in comparison to traditional rinks. They also decorate it for the holidays with a large tree in the center. DJ on Fridays and Saturdays.
Where: The Lloyd Center Mall, 953 Lloyd Center
Cost: Adult admission is $20, plus $5 skate rental. Admission for kids ages 4-5 or adults over 50 costs $14. Ages 2-3 cost only $4. Cheap skate is $18 for all on Tuesday and Thursdays.

Mountain View Ice Arena
Bundle up for this traditional rink. They offer cute seal skate helpers for littles just learning. There’s also a concession stand with hot chocolate and some arcade games.
Where: 14313 SE Mill Plain Blvd., Vancouver
Cost: Starts at $15. Skate rental has historically been an additional $3.

Sherwood Ice Arena
Have fun at this traditional ice arena. There’s a snack bar and skate helpers to rent. Walk-ins only.
Where: 20407 SW Borchers Dr., Sherwood
Cost: $25 per person, including skate rental. Kids 5 and younger skate free with a paying adult.

Winterhawks Skating Center
Skate under the iconic wood-beam ceiling of the Winterhawks Skating Center. There’s a snack bar onsite and a pro shop next door. Portland’s Winterhawks team practices here!
Where: 9250 SW Beaverton-Hillsdale Hwy, Beaverton
Cost: $25 admission, skate rental free with paid admission; children 5 and under free with adult admission.

Portland Winter Ice Rink
Enjoy outdoor ice skating at this pop up rink and holiday market, open through January 28, 2024.
Where: 499 SW Naito Pkwy, Portland, OR
Cost: $20 Adults, $12 Youth under 12, $10 Bobby Skating Aid (rental includes skates)

Roller Skating

Oaks Park
A Portland institution! It’s spacious, airy and charming with concessions and skate shop onsite. Check out their special events, such as Glow Skate, Preschool Play & Skate, and Saturday Kids’ Morning Skate. And try to go when the Wurlitzer Pipe Organ is played live!
Where: 7805 SE Oaks Park Way
Cost: $12, including skate rental. There is also a new daily parking fee of $3-$5.

Mt. Scott Community Center (Temporarily Closed)
With many local roller skating rinks closing in the past few years, it’s great to have this rink in a Portland Parks and Recreation community center!
Where: 5530 SE 72nd Ave.
When: Temporarily closed for renovations.
Cost: $4-$6, plus $2 skate rental.
