Sauvie Island

Bella Organic Farm

Get lost in Bella’s 7-acre corn maze as an epic kick start to fall and all of your favorite harvest time activities. Hop on the hay ride in October to u-pick your perfect pumpkin, ride the cow train or grain train, hangout in the petting zoo, and take a caramel apple to-go for the short car ride home (only 15 mins from downtown PDX). Visit their website to reserve space for parties/events in their private event garden which is one of the only pumpkin patches around that offers a private sprawling grassy knoll for even the largest of groups. Pop into their farm store year round to shop, visit, and stay up to date on all the seasonal happenings at Bella’s!
Dates: The corn maze is open daily, August 31-October 31, 2024. The pumpkin patch opens September 28.
Activities: Bring cash for activities, including face painting on weekends, cow train, grain train, hay maze, duck races, and petting zoo. Pets on leash welcome.
Admission: Free admission. Entrance to the dog-friendly corn maze is $10-$12 (ages 5 and under free) — and this year teachers and school staff receive free admission to the corn maze, too! Prices vary for activities, from $2-$5. You may buy an unlimited activity bracelet with or without the corn maze included. Hayrides to the pumpkin patch are free.

The Pumpkin Patch

This family farm has been going strong since 1967, and this year’s corn maize theme celebrates the 75th Anniversary of Charles Schulz’ Peanuts comic strip. Let the Great Pumpkin Watch begin!
Dates: The corn maze opens August 31, 2024; October festivities kick off September 28.
Activities: Check out the huge corn maze and pumpkin patch, plus enjoy other farm fun — like hayrides, a barn with lots of different animals, fresh donuts, produce, gift shop, Patio Cafe and more.
Admission: Free. Maize tickets are $8-$10, free for ages 5 and under.

Topaz Farm

Families are obsessed with this regenerative and no-spray farm with fantastic events and a crew of friendly animals who love attention. It’s a great spot for family photos, especially in the 14-acre sunflower field that should bloom through September, if not into October.
Dates: Mazes are open in September, fall fun begins September 28, 2024.
Activities: Pick your perfect pumpkin, take a hayride, ride the cow train, visit farm animals, try the mini-digger, and shop at the well-stocked farm market.
Admission: To reduce crowds, the farm will charge a $12 fee for weekend farm entrance per person ages 2+ with advance purchase. This includes the corn mazes, sunflower mazes, hayrides, playgrounds, animal visits, kid activities and parking on those days. Cow train and mini-digger rides cost extra. You can still visit the farm for free in September or most weekdays in October (exception: school holiday on October 11).

Columbia Farms

This quiet, quaint u-pick farm is the perfect place for a budget-friendly pumpkin patch experience. There are no carnival-like activities, so you won’t have to say no to anything!

Fazio Farms

Visit a corn maze in the city at Fazio Farms! You won’t have to drive far for this pumpkin patch experience near the Portland International Airport, and if you have a napper at home, this matters.
Dates: October
Activities: Wander through the corn maze, visit the goats, take a hayride tour, and enjoy more festive fun at this family farm.
Admission: Free. The corn maze is typically around $5, and pumpkins are priced by size. Debit/Credit only.

Plumper Pumpkin Patch and Tree Farm

Plumper Pumpkin Patch & Tree Farm is a family-owned, 65-acre farm, famous for its namesake pumpkins. They grow 25 varieties and offer lots of activities. Pets on leash welcome.
Dates: Open September 14 through October 31, 2024.
Activities: Enjoy the pumpkin patch, farm store, hayrides, playgrounds, hobbit house, animals, pig races, walking loops, corn maze, and sunflower field. Pony rides run select weekends in October. They also have pumpkin and apple cannons! Stay for lunch and don’t forget to get fresh apple slushees or cider, caramel apples, fresh roasted corn and, of course, their famous donuts.
Admission: $16 online, $18 at the gate, $31 for a season pass. Must purchase tokens for activities, for example $5 to feed the animals or shoot the apple and pumpkin cannons. Debit/credit only.

East of Portland/Hood River

Liepold Farms

The theme for the Liepold Farms corn maze this year is “Under the Sea,” to raise awareness about the importance of our oceans. Friendly pets on leash welcome.
Dates: October 1-31, 2024.
Activities: Get lost in the themed corn maze, go on a hayride with views of Mt. Hood, try the apple slingshot, enjoy fall treats, and choose a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch at the organic family-owned farm. Their “dark maze” is a tight squeeze but not “haunted.” Don’t forget to try one of their locally brewed ciders.
Admission: $15 per kid ages 3-12, $20 per adult. This includes almost all of the activities. The Bee Train costs $5/person, $10/three people, $20/six people. Extra turns on the apple slingshot cost $2. Goat experience is $5.

Packer Orchards Bakery & Farm Place

Packer Orchards is one of the famous stops on the Hood River Fruit Loop. Plan a whole day on the loop, and end at Packer to pick your pumpkin and head home to eat all of the delicious fruit you collected along the way.
Dates: September 6-October 28, 2024.
Activities: Fun farm activities for all ages, including a corn maze, pumpkin bowling, flashlight (not spooky) and haunted (spooky) corn maze nights, pumpkin patch and more. Their play area includes a tricycle track, human hamster wheels, giant corn pit, hay slide, and farm animals to visit. Be sure to grab a lemon cookie in the farm store; they’re delicious.
Admission: Admission of $16.95 is required for entry to the activities fields, corn maze and pumpkin patch.

Bushue’s Family Farm and Nursery

The pig train at Bushue’s is bright pink and sure to be a hit! Their mini corn maze is perfect for the youngest pumpkin patch visitors.
Dates: Opening September 28-October 27, 2024.
Activities: Enjoy the play area, pig train ride, DIY Dirt Baby Kit, hayride, corn trail, farm animals, and pumpkin field. Fresh donuts, caramel apple slices, and apple cider available for purchase. You may bring food onto the farm.
Admission: Free; the corn trail and visiting the farm animals are both free, too. All other activities are paid, approximately $5/activity. On “Thrifty Thursdays” you get $2 off all activities.

Mt. View Orchards

Another stop on the Hood River Fruit Loop, Mt. View has an unbeatable view, and you must eat the handmade pizza while you’re there. Pups on leashes are welcome.
Dates: The pumpkin patch typically opens mid-September.
Activities: You’ll find harvest games, farm animals and tractor wagon rides at this Hood River pumpkin patch.

Dolan Creek Farm

Enjoy wide open spaces of farm living on 115 acres. This farm has a spectacular view, and you can even meet a horse. Dogs allowed on leash if well-behaved, but not near the animal area (they recommend you keep your pet at home if you can).
Dates: Open September 27-October 27, 2024.
Activities: Pet a goat, cow, and Gwen the pony (Fri-Sun), feed the chickens and turkeys (Fri-Sun), walk their nature trail loop, ride a tractor (Fri-Sun), sit by the campfire, eat homemade goodies, load up on unique pumpkins and enjoy the farm. Mark your calendars for their annual Trick-or-Treat Trail, typically the last Sunday in October.

West of Portland

Roloff Farms

Roloff Farms — an “agritainment” destination — has unique structures originally built for the children of the Roloff family and now enjoyed by the whole community, including a pirate ship and old west town. You may recognize the Roloff family from TLC as stars of the long-running reality series Little People, Big World.
Dates: Fri-Sun, October 4-27, 2024
Activities: Enjoy a scenic trail walk and u-pick pumpkin experience, plus imaginative play areas, wagon tours, train rides, air cannons (first shot free), face painting, and more — a total of 28 activities!
Admission: $20 per person, ages 24 months and older, almost all activities included. Combo admission ticket ($26) includes their famous wagon tour. Pumpkins priced separately.

Oregon Heritage Farms

If you’re looking for an affordable pumpkin patch visit, Oregon Heritage Farms is a charming spot. Dogs are allowed on leash in outdoor areas, but not the apple orchard or farm store.
Dates: September-October
Activities: Order from one of the food stalls, enjoy apple cider donuts and slushies, visit farm animals, shoot an apple from a slingshot, or enjoy a picnic while you visit the pumpkin patch. There are even more free activities, including duck races and a small bounce house shaped like an apple. Tractor rides may be available.
Admission: Free, and most activities are free, too. The cost of the apple slingshot is two apples for $1, benefitting the local HilHi baseball team.

Smith Berry Barn

This farm and garden market has grown grass between the rows of their pumpkin patch, to make boots optional on this fun outing.
Dates: Late September-October
Activities: Their play area will delight the younger crowd, and you can feed the farm animals (don’t forget to bring quarters). Fall treats available, including house-baked pumpkin chocolate chip cookies and hand-dipped honeycrisp caramel apples. Grownups and kids alike will love the pumpkin pie milkshakes!

Peters Pumpkin Patch

Peters Pumpkin Patch not only has free admission — you can navigate their corn maze for free, too!
Dates: September 29-November5
Activities: Navigate their half-acre corn maze and. pick your perfect pumpkin! On Fridays-Sundays concessions are available and you may meet their baby pygmy goats and chickens. Don’t forget to snap a photo in front of one of their painted hay bales!

Triskelee Farm

Visit a working farm and learn where your food comes from! Animal loving kids will have a blast at Triskelee.
Dates: Weekends in October
Activities: Fall Fest at Triskelee Farm includes a farm tour, animal feeding, trick or treat walk, bounce house, carnival games, pumpkin decorating, hay pyramid, food, drinks, and more. At 11 am there will be a live show for kids.
Admission: $15. Farm tour, wood pumpkin to decorate, food and drinks cost extra.

Hoffman Farms Store

Hoffman is famous for the mini-train, but you also get to pick your pumpkin directly from the vine (instead of a pumpkin placed on a lawn).
Dates: Fall at Hoffman begins September 18, 2024.
Activities: Weekends feature live music, a BBQ food truck, and libations from Barn Door Brewing. Explore the ten-acre corn maze and ride the Scholls Valley Railroad (ADA cars available). Pick up donuts, kettle corn, homemade pie, and more, in the farm store.

Bauman Farms

Bauman Farms host special events all fall, including the Giant Pumpkin Drop on Saturday, October 5, this year. Pets on leash welcome.
Dates: September 21-October 30
Activities: Enjoy more than 30 family fun activities, including a large pumpkin patch, apple cannon, bug train, corn maze, dark maze, jumping pillow, petting zoo and traditional treats like popcorn and donuts.
Admission: It’s free to visit the pumpkin patch! For the harvest festival, admission is $30/person ages 3+, over thirty activities included. Family rewards weekend is September 21-22.

Yesteryear Pumpkin Patch and Christmas Trees

Yesteryear had us at free entry and dog-friendly. They even offer complimentary snacks.
Dates: Opens September 6, 2024.
Activities: Join the fall fun, with food trucks, guest performances, an 8-acre corn maze, complimentary beverages, farm store and — of course — iconic photo opportunities, including their classic red truck. They also host free fall Friday night movies, all of them family friendly and Halloween-themed.

Flower Farmer

If your kids love the train at Hoffman, they must check out the Boo Train at Flower Farmer, too! Pets allowed on leash, but not on the train.
Dates: October 5-31. Boo Train runs October 18-19, and the 25-30, from dark to 9 pm.
Activities: Ride The Pumpkin Run (a miniature train), check out the farm animals, climb the hay pyramid, visit the store for veggies, and pick your pumpkin at this sweet farm in Canby. The Boo Train is recommended for ages 6+.
Admission: Train tickets are $7.50 for kids, $10 for adults. Children under 24 months are free.

French Prairie Gardens

French Prairie Gardens is a hidden gem! This family-owned and operated nursery, scratch bakery, farm, and taproom is worth the drive to Saint Paul.
Dates: Opening September 14 for sunflowers, and October 5 for the pumpkin patch.
Activities: Enjoy the pumpkin patch (pumpkins are sold separately), sunflowers, corn maze (featuring games inside!), famous pig races, obstacle courses, pig barrel train rides, super mega ride-n-slide, and more. Don’t forget to order one of their legendary apple cider floats or famous made-from-scratch pies.

Lee Farms

Lee Farms is a seventh-generation family farm with a 150 year history in Oregon, known for their fun agritourism events.

Frog Pond Farm

Llamas roam the pumpkin patch. Need we say more? Pets allowed on leash, but not in the pumpkin patch (for the safety of both the pets and the llamas).

Activities: Visit their farm of over 80 animals while enjoying ten acres of fun farm activities, games, and playgrounds. Don’t miss their bounce park! Spooky Farm Walks are on hold for 2023.

Historic Kirchem Farm

Unique to Kirchem is their collection of Steelhead Metalworks art; we love the metal spider for displaying pumpkins. Dogs allowed on leash.

Activities: Find u-cut and pre-cut pumpkins, hayrides, play areas, food carts, hard cider, face painting and more at this local farm. The kid zones are located in the barn, perfect for rainy days. Face painting is extra and prices are determined by the vendor.

Papa’s Pumpkin Patch at Wachlin Farms

This low-key pumpkin patch has u-pick and pre-cut pumpkins on their 50-acre farm, and lots of opportunities for photo ops. If you just want a pumpkin and a sweet photo of your kids without paying a steep admission fee, this is a great spot for it. Pets welcome!

Red Berry Barn

Red Berry Barn is family-owned and family-friendly! They grow and sell 15 varieties of pumpkins. Don’t forget to stop by the well-stocked farm store.

Activities: Red Berry Barn offers bounce houses, slides, wiggly carts, and more in their activity area. You’ll also find traditional activities such as a corn maze, pumpkin patch, hayride and hay slide, and barrel train.
Admission: $25/person on weekends, $20/person on weekdays. Ages 1 and under are free, and activities are unlimited. Hayrides are weekends only.

Fir Point Farms

This bakery, deli, and produce stand hosts a popular harvest festival every year — the only one with paintball! Pets on leash welcome.
Dates: September 28-October 27, Wednesday-Sunday.
Activities: This farm ticks all the boxes: pumpkin patch, corn maze, hay wagon ride, pumpkin painting, polka-dot express cow train, bounce houses, spooky slide, paintball and more!
Admission: Free. Activities are $7-$8 each. Pro tip: buy an unlimited activities band to save on activities cost. Feed cups for the animals may be purchased inside the country store.

Our Table Pumpkin Patch

This certified organic farm in Sherwood has restaurant, co-op grocery (you don’t have to be a member to shop), and farm share CSA. Plan to get some shopping and noshing done while you pick your pumpkin!

Activities: See their website for the special activities schedule which includes a kids craft, face painting, cider pressing, hayrides, live music, coffee tastings and more!

Pick the pumpkins off the vine at this u-pick family farm, going strong since 1928.
Dates: October 1-31
Activities: Enjoy weekend hayrides (or by appointment!), and plenty of adorable baby animals to meet.
Admission: No admission fee, but they ask that you please make a purchase when you visit.

Heiser Farms Pumpkin Patch

This family farm in Dayton, OR, is the only farm that offers fire engine rides, and their pumpkin cannons are the stuff of legend.
Dates: Weekends, September 28-October 31
Activities: Ride the mini-train, barrel train, or fire engine, shoot the pumpkin cannons, pet the animals, navigate the corn maze, or explore their play areas.
Admission: $8/person, discounts for groups of 7 or more. The hay maze, corn maze, fire engine rides, train rides, and barrel train rides all cost $4 per turn. Firing a pumpkin cannon will cost $10 (donated to breast cancer research). Everything else is free, including hay rides. Buy an unlimited attraction wristband for $20.

The Patch at Whalen Oaks Farm

Whalen Oaks began as a pumpkin farm and has since expanded to offer more fresh, local produce, but they carry on The Patch tradition! Pets welcome on leash.
Dates: October 1-31.
Activities: Visit this pumpkin patch with many varieties of pumpkins, plus two corn mazes (including a free-to-explore smaller one for kids), a small hay maze, hay rides, pumpkin bowling, photo props and food and drink. Pony rides available on weekends

Pumpkin Lane at Pomeroy Farm

Pomeroy is a “living history” farm — it’s depicts farm life without electricity. Also unique to Pomeroy is the annual Pumpkin Lane Scene Contest — the winner has their design featured in one of the “pumpkin people” scenes at the farm during October.

Bi-Zi Farms

Bi-Zi Farms has ben run by the Zimmerman family since 1872. Go for the pumpkin patch, stay for the market packed with fresh produce. Dogs allowed on a 6 ft. standard leash.
Dates: September 21-October 27, 2024, Thursday-Sunday.
Activities: Admission includes a wagon ride to and from the pumpkin patch, live music (weekends), one free pumpkin (any size you can carry!), corn maze entrance, two shots at the pumpkin launcher, one free drink, fresh pressed apple cider samples, admission to the animals, and children’s play areas. Food trucks are onsite, with your favorite fall treats and fresh cotton candy. The after dark corn maze is open on Fridays and Saturdays.
