Scavenger Hunt at the Farmers Market

The Portland area is home to dozens of farmers markets. While many people associate farmers markets with the summer months, most markets go through the fall–and some even last throughout the year. While strawberries may be a thing of the past, that doesn’t mean the farmers markets are empty.  Instead, the transition to fall brings a whole new set of food and activities for the whole family.

Our friends at the King Farmers Market want to encourage you to come out and explore the fun (and deliciousness) of a fall farmers market. They’ve put together this fall scavenger hunt.

Complete all five activities on the card by November 13, and you can enter to win a basket of King Farmers Market products! A fun way for kids and adults alike to explore the market in a new way.

Many farmers markets also continue to host special events throughout the fall, including hands-on cooking demonstrations and classes, music and kids crafts. For instance, the King Farmers market will be having a family-friendly fermentation class on October 16. The PSU Market is having its annual Great Pumpkin Event on October 29. And the Hollywood market has a Hollyween pet parade coming up on October 29th too. And be sure to check out the Great Pumpkin Event at King Farmers Market on October 30!

Enjoy the harvest- and enjoy the hunt!
