The longest running free jazz festival west of the Mississippi returns for another weekend of jazz, blues, soul and R&B under the bridge.

There will be food carts and booths. Bring your own low chair or a blanket. Dogs are discouraged unless they are service animals. No outside alcohol is allowed. Alcohol consumption is allowed for those 21 and over in the beer and wine garden only. No umbrellas or tents on the festival grounds since they will block the view of others.

Plus, Alden’s is bringing its Project Ice Cream campaign to the Cathedral Park Jazz Festival with a one-of-a-kind activation hosted by Portland’s Funniest Person (literally), Jordan Casner. When: National Ice Cream Day – Sunday, July 19th. Where: Under St. Johns Bridge during Jazz Fest. Cost: Free, all ages! Attendees will have the chance to snag free ice cream from a locked freezer by participating in a lighthearted “agree or disagree” challenge centered around finding common ground with fellow Portlanders – once you both agree on several prompts, the freezer unlocks.
