Summer Fun at Hands On!

Experience the Summer Splash! Festival of Fun at the Hands On Children’s Museum in Olympia. Families can enjoy a new adventure each week with special guests, stage performers, and awesome activities all summer long, presented by WSECU.

The August line-up delivers non-stop interactive fun and learning that kids and adults will love. Meet cuddly farm animals, take a photo with the costumed Wayfinder Princess, hear stories and songs by author Tyler Jacobs, and test your skills on a 25-foot climbing wall. Special guests are sponsored by Small to Tall Pediatric Dentistry.

Summer Splash! Guests & Visiting Artists

Treat your family to exciting Summer Splash! guests and activities throughout August.

August 12-13: Rock Climbing Wall – Try your climbing skills and build your confidence as you take on a 25-foot rock climbing wall. Be sure to ring the bell at the top!

August 17 & Sept. 2: Olympia BeeKeepers – See an observation hive and learn about the wonders of beekeeping and the importance of pollinators with the Olympia Beekeepers Association.

August 18–20: Artist Mimi Williams – Learn the art of printmaking with artist Mimi Williams. Artist in Residence Series supported by City of Olympia Tourism Funds.

August 24 & Sept. 2: Native Storyteller Itsa Shash – Listen and participate in the exciting ritual of native storytelling with dynamic storyteller Itsa Shash. Native Guest Series funded by Nisqually Indian Tribe.

August 28: Magician Jeff Evans – Watch how scientific principles like air pressure, density, surface tension, and more create the illusion of magic with magician Jeff Evans.

August 31: The Falconer – Pet a great horned owl and learn about birds of prey with the Raptor Ambassadors and The Falconer.
