The Love of Music for a Lifetime

Have you ever wanted to learn a musical instrument?  Is now a good time to start?  How do you know which instrument to choose?  How much does it cost?  How much practice do you need?

These are all important questions.  If your answer to the first question is YES…then please consider music lessons and share the joys of music at Valley Catholic Music School.

Our Mission:  The love of music. For a lifetime.

The Sisters of St. Mary of Oregon have a century-long tradition of encouraging music and the arts throughout our school and community. Valley Catholic Music School believes music should be an opportunity for everyone to learn and grow.  From kindergarten through high school, students have numerous opportunities to listen to, appreciate, and play music. Valley Catholic Music School offers private music lessons in a variety of instruments throughout the year for children and adults.  Our music school is open to the public for anyone to attend. The school offers special programs such as Summer Music Camp, Flute Choir and regularly scheduled recitals.

At Valley Catholic Music School, we believe that playing a musical instrument enhances and benefits our students’ lives. We provide an opportunity for every student to develop his or her musical talent in a fun, challenging and safe environment.  The dedicated and talented instructors work with students of all ages and abilities. Students learn to read music, develop technique and theory, and discover different genres and composers from all over the world. Students will also have the opportunity to share their musical talent with others through performance.

Research has shown that dedication to learning an instrument through sustained attention and creative thinking builds classroom and academic skills. In addition, studying music increases cognitive skills through problem solving, goal setting and flexible thinking.

About our Instructors:  Valley Catholic Music School is proud of our musical staff and the experience they bring to our music school.  Some continue to perform and record professionally while others stay active in the community by nurturing their students through competitions and public performances. There are many styles of teaching and personalities. It is important to work with the instructor that best fits the student for a positive experience and life-long love and appreciate of music.
