Out and About: Two Sisters Play Café

Over the weekend I checked out Two Sisters Play Café, the newest play café in town, with my youngest babe. My goals were: drink hot coffee (Mama) + explore new places (Babe). Babe is eleven months old and lives to scoot, climb and generally mess with everything in his path. It doesn’t take long for him to kill the café vibe… unless, of course, that IS the café vibe. Which is what I found at Two Sisters Play Café! So, he settled in for some free-range rolling in the play area and I enjoyed an Americano (for 30-45 second stretches) from a safe distance.

Anne and Kathy (the two sisters) opened their dream café in late September. We walked through the door and they offered us a warm welcome and gave me the rundown on the play zone, art supplies, board games, changing table, bin for toys that need to be sanitized, etc. The play zone is clean, day-lit and perfect for crawlers and toddlers. The craft and game area is well suited for elementary school-aged kiddos and preschoolers. You pay to play: $2 for the first kiddo, $1 for the second and $5 for three.

Their coffee and tea offerings are solid and there are plenty of food options on the breakfast and lunch menus, which are posted on the website along with their daily specials and soup flavors. In addition to being a great drop-in spot for indoor play, the café hosts birthday parties and The Micah and Me Music Show. Be sure to check the events section of their website or Facebook page for details.

I’m excited to go back on a rainy day and enjoy a warm drink with Anne and Kathy. Hope to see you there!
